PowerCan 200 takes 4th place in National GEKON Competition

Gas Flare 1SOLIDEA, sp. z o.o. PowerCan200 Team has won a major national award for its environmental innovation. More than 400 candidates from some of Poland’s largest power and engineering companies competed to fund development of their new technologies under GEKON financial sponsorship, with full Polish government support.  Good news for PowerCan clients

The production of the new PowerCan starts immediately

PowerCan200 was placed 4th in the GEKON Program and one of the 24 companies of 400 professional applicants who will receive sponsorship (by the National Center for Research and Development, NCBiR, and the National Fund for Environmental Protection, NFOS).

The PowerCan200 converts wood chip and forest waste into synthesis gas. The PowerCan powers a stationary MAN Gas Engine and Combined Heat and Power unit. Since PowerCan200 can produce energy locally on or off grid and given recent events in Ukraine it can yet demonstrate to be well timed and hugely successful in this region. Continue reading

Why Gasification Of Plastics Is Nonsense?

Wroclaw, 26 February 2014

Filament Plastic For 3D Printing

Even before the advent of the 3D printer and more than 30 years ago Poland had several plants which evaporated plastics and to ensure their reuse as fuel additives. Today as the first affordable 3D printers become readily available and set to change the way we manufacture to Cottage Industry, suddenly waste plastics have a surprisingly high potential value as “Filament” with the ability to remaining in the value chain being profitably recycled into something else.

Poland And The History of Soft Plastics For Fuel Recycling

Poland’s organic chemists have quite a history of creating breakthrough technology in the fuel, plasma and related sciences. Many synthetic fuels have been developed in Poland or through Polish innovation which originated in Poland. Polish scientists in the 1980’s demonstrated why landfill, burning and even gasification of plastics was nonsense. Continue reading

Tipping Floor, Landfill Killing Floor

Unsorted MSW on a Polish Landfill SiteWarsaw June 11, 2012

PowerCan® 200 and similar small gasification systems are making landfill practice history across Central and South Europe even in West Africa; “landfill is no longer part of modern waste management”. Says SOLIDEA’s Steve Walker “With PowerCan® 200, the waste is recycled or made extinct at the sorting station” “MSW never goes beyond the tipping floor and at the existing landfill its the perfect solution to clean up Central Europe and West Africa”.

SOLIDEA Group are working with district planners worldwide who clearly prefer smaller sorting stations; with a PowerCan® 200 inline with the tipping floor; large scale ambitious new projects are dinosaurs they simply no longer make sense. Continue reading
